Three Newman men's soccer student-athletes have been named to the Daktronics All-South Central Men's Soccer teams, as announced Thursday. Senior Will Peppard earned First-Team Daktronics All-South Central Region honors, while Renato Ramlochan and Jordan Saybounkham were named to the Daktronics All-South Central Region Second Team.

Will Peppard did most of his work from the defender position this season, but was able to create goals for his team as well. Peppard led the 2010 Newman squad with seven assists, but took 10 shots on goal as well. The Rose Hill native anchored a Newman defense that allowed 30 goals through 17 games this season, and held its opponents to one goal or less in eight of its 17 matches.

Playing in his final season with the Jets, Renato Ramlochan was tied for the team-high with four goals this season, two of which came in Newman's 3-2 loss to national power Truman on Oct. 24. Ramlochan also added goals in a 4-0 win over Tabor on Sept. 6, and a 4-1 win over Texas-Permian Basin on Oct. 15.

Jordan Saybounkham was Newman's only freshman selected to the Daktronics All-South Central Region Second Team. The Wichita native tied Ramlochan with four goals and one assist this season, including a two-goal outing in a 4-0 win over Tabor on Sept. 6. Saybounhkam also added goals in a 3-2 loss to Eastern New Mexico on Sept. 26, and a 3-1 loss to St. Mary's on Nov. 7.

As a team, Newman finished its season with a 3-14 record, but picked up Heartland Conference wins over St. Mary's and Texas-Permian Basin in the process.
