The 2015 edition of the Caribbean Welders Fishing Pond 9-a-side Football League will be declared open on June 13 at the Fishing Pond Recreation Ground.
This year, the ante has been upped with the winners receiving an astounding $50,000 and a challenge trophy. Second-place will take home $8,000 while the third and fourth-placed teams get $5,000 and $4,000 respectively.
On June 13, the teams will compete in the traditional march past event with the champion team being awarded $1,000.
The registration fee is $2,500 (13 players) and the deadline for registration is May 23. Teams can contact Prakash Ramkissoon at 399-8151 for more information.
Last year, Blu Magic got past Gremio FC 3-2 in the final and teams will be gunning to dethrone the champs and claim the lucrative first prize.
