Red Bull Street Style, the most exciting freestyle football competition, made its way around the world and now ends in Cape Town, South Africa, for the World Final from April 25 to 28.

Kerron Ford, Trinidad and Tobago national champion will battle against the best freestyle football players in this challenge where creativity, control and style will reign.

“I’m very excited about competing in South Africa,” Kerron said “I have trained a lot to give the best of myself and to represent Trinidad.”

Kerron will be leaving for Cape Town on April 21 and will fly for 21 hours from our country to be a part of the World Final. “It will be a very long flight; I hope to get enough rest to do a good job in the qualifying events,” Kerron said.

Iconic Cape Town, which will also host the FIFA World Cup in June and July, will receive the 60 national champions that will first show what they have in two days of group challenges.

The judges, among which is Edgar Davis, legendary football star of the European elite, will choose the 16 finalists that will battle for the title of World Champion.

Red Bull Street Style measures the football skills, creativity and integration with the music of the contestants. In the battle, two players face each other in a three minute session.

Each player must do tricks with the ball for 20 seconds before passing the ball to his opponent. Like in a normal football game, it is not permitted to use hands or arms to control the ball, and it is prohibited to distract the opponent while he has the ball.
