Super Industrial Services Ltd officially launched its 3rd Annual SIS Industrial Football League on Friday August 13. The tournament featuring many companies from the Point Lisas Industrial Estate, were all present for the opening ceremony, including representatives from the 12 participating teams this year: PCS Nitrogen, Plipdeco, Yara Trinidad Ltd, Super Industrial Services Ltd, Phoenix Park Gas Processors, Trinidad Cement Ltd (TCL), Industrial Plant Services Limited, National Energy Corporation, National Gas Company of Trinidad & Tobago, T&TEC, Shell Trinidad Lubricants and Industrial Gases Ltd.

These 12 companies will compete for the top prize of $10,000 and bragging rights on the Point Lisas Industrial Estate. In commenting on the purpose of the League event organiser, Ronald Ramlogan, said: “This football league has been successfully hosted for the past two years in our continued effort to provide meaningful activities for relaxation and camaraderie building amongst employees and companies on the Point Lisas Industrial Estate.

“We thought it advantageous to provide an outlet for everyone to take their minds of the rigours of the workplace and engage in some healthy competition.” It is expected that this will be the most competitive season yet. Kicking off the tournament was national and world champion women’s boxer, Ria Ramnarine and Omar Khan former West Indies manager. The opening encounter saw Group A teams TCL and hosts SIS lock horns in what was a highly competitive and fast paced encounter. The game ended in a one-all draw.
