THE 2010 edition of the La Brea Community Football League kicks-off tomorrow, Independence Day, for the first time under lights at the Brighton Sports Ground, La Brea.
Winners of the exhibition match will walk away with the Winston Sinclair Memorial Trophy while an will also be given out to the man of the match.
The ceremony will begin with a parade of teams from 5.30 pm after which the feature match will begin.
As the country celebrates Independence and many will flock to the Queen’s Park Savannah in Port of Spain, the San Fernando Hills in South Trinidad or any other venue where fireworks are normally on display, the members of the football teams in La Brea, the first commercial capital of the twin-island republic, will be plotting ways in which they can cop the handsome $8,000 cash prize for the league winners
Runners-up will receive $5,000 while $$3,000 will go to the third placed team, with $2,000 going to fourth.
