THREE long-standing football aficionados--Alan Cabral, Geoffrey Wharton-Lake and David O'Brien--have formed a new football club, Savannah FC.

The trio were all previously associated with Queen's Park Cricket Club (QPCC), but following that club's decision to form Queen's Park Football Club (QPFC), with former San Juan Jabloteh coach Terry Fenwick, and acquire the Rangers franchise in the T&T Pro League, they decided to go on their own and put together a new entity.

Savannah FC are registered with the North Zone of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) and will participate in the Senior Division of the North Zone, which is scheduled to start in mid-August.

Anyone interested in playing for Savannah FC in the 2011 season is invited to trials today at the Queen's Park Savannah in Port of Spain (opposite to President's House) at 4.30 p.m.

Savannah FC will also have a youth academy and coaching school and those interested in joining or finding out more about this can either call Alan Cabral at 684-6939 or send an email to "alancbrl1@gmail.com"

All coaches associated with Savannah FC recently participated in a TTFF organised Dutch C Licence coaching course as it is their intention to ensure they provide the best possible opportunities to the club's players.
