CORNEAL THOMAS netted the winner in the 41st minute as Club Sando pipped Real Maracas 1-0 at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, on Sunday, to stay top of the points standings in the Blink/bmobile National Super League 2013/2014 season.

But Malabar FC overtook Guaya United for second spot after a 2-1 scoreline at the Guayaguayare Recreation Ground. These results, on Match Day Eleven, see Sando holding a five-point gap over Malabar, with Guaya seven points adrift of the leaders.

At Guayaguayare, Malabar held a two-goal lead through a pair from Cyrano Glen (second and 27th minutes) but Russell Alfred pulled one back for the hosts in the 42nd. Westside Superstarzs FC maintained their fourth position on the standings after edging Joe Public 2-1 at the Marvin Lee Stadium in Macoya.

Westside went ahead courtesy of a ninth minute own goal, but Rashard Griffith equalised in the 33rd. But the Westmoorings-based Superstarzs took the lead for good, through Qian Grovesnor, six minutes later.

Andel Brown recorded a double to guide 1976 FC Phoenix to a 3-2 win over Siparia Spurs at the Palo Seco Recreation Ground. Brown opened the scoring after 17 minutes but Kerwin Baptiste levelled the scores in the 30th. Chris Collins put Siparia in front in the 72nd before Phoenix stormed back, with strikes from Steffon Hector in the 84th and Brown, in stoppage time.

Kriston Bobb found the back of the net in the 89th as Stokely Vale edged Bethel United 1-0 at the Plymouth Recreation Ground but, in the most interesting result of the day, FC Santa Rosa finally won a game this season, courtesy of a 3-1 scoreline over Defence Force, in a meeting of the table- proppers, at the UTT O’Meara campus in Arima.

Jean-Luc Rochford registered a hat-trick, with items in the 16th, 45th and 68th, while Dwight Scott got Defence Force’s consolation in the 28th.
