Ricardo Bennett opened the scoring in the second half for the hosts at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya, for a lead which would last until the 81st minute when Tyrone Manning equalized for the visitors, Stokely Vale.

Michael Carrington then struck in the 88th minute with what looked to be a winner for Stokely Vale, but a last-minute surge from Dyett saw the two sides level for the remaineder of the match.

Despite being held, Stokely Vale remain top of the table with 17 points, one point more than WASA, which recorded a 3-2 victory over 1976 FC Phoenix, yesterday.

Joe Public went joint second with 16 points with the result. In the other late match yesterday, bottom teams Real Maracas and St Francois Nationals shared the spoils with a 0-0 draw at the Maracas Recreation Ground.

First round honours in the bmobile National Super League go to Stokely Vale.

The Tobago club grabbed a 2-2 draw against Joe Public on Wednesday at the Marvin Lee Stadium in Macoya to finish the first round with 17 points from nine matches, one clear of second-placed WASA FC, third-placed Joe Public, and fourth-placed Club Sando, all on 16 points.

A very balanced match saw the teams level at 0-0 at the half, before Ricardo Bennett gave the home team a 51st minute lead. The Eastern Lions held that advantage for half hour until Tyrone Manning equalised for Stokely Vale in the 81st.

That started a flurry of late goals which saw both teams net in the final two minutes. First, former national Under-20 striker Michael Carrington put the visitors ahead at 2-1 in the 88th, before Ellis Dyett scored for Joe Public a minute later.

Having dropped points, Stokely Vale allowed early season leaders WASA FC to move closer after play-maker Fabian Garcia scored twice to give them a come-from-behind 3-2 home win over another Tobago club, 1976 FC Phoenix at St Joseph.

That victory stopped a skid which saw WASA draw their four previous matches.

Phoenix were off to a bright start through veteran striker Dominique Kerr, who netted in the 25th, before striker Darin Lewis pulled WASA level ten minutes later.

Former San Juan Jabloteh player Garcia notched a brace in the 85th and 89th minutes to give the home team a comfortable 3-1 advantage, but once again WASA conceded a late goal through Andell Noray in the 90th minute.

League action now takes a break for the start of the bmobile Super League knock-out on Monday.
