Brent Antoine scored in either half for bmobile Joe Public as the club moved clear at the top of the standings in the Blink/bmobile National Super League on Wednesday, with a 2-0 win over Eagles United.
The match was played at the Woodford Lodge in Chaguanas. Antoine’s double put him on eight goals this season, the highest in the division.
Before the match, Joe Public was level at the top on 22 point with Stokely Vale who was scheduled to play on Monday.
That match against Defence Force was postponed, giving Joe Public the opportunity to play the same number of matches with the Tobago club.
With victory, Joe Public moved three points clear having played 12 of the scheduled 18 league matches.
Dominique Kerr, another familiar face, scored on the hour mark for 1976 FC Phoenix to give the club a narrow 1-0 win over Club Sando in Canaan, Bon Accord.
Kerr is the second-leading scorer with seven goals. In the other matches on the day, West Side Super Starzs won 2-1 away to St Francois Nationals at the Hasely Crawford Stadium Training Field in Mucurapo, before WASA FC and Real Maracas played in the final 6 pm fixture.
WASA FC was ahead 1-0, away to Real Maracas at the Maracas Recreation Ground, with a goal from Fabian Garcia in the 55th minute.
But just minutes after the restart, there was a power failure at the venue, which resulted in the match being abandoned.
