REAL MARACAS denied Stokely Vale a chance to keep within touching distance of leaders Joe Public with a 4-1 triumph in a Match Day Sixteen meeting of the Blink Bmobile National Super League on Wednesday.

Maracas, inspired by their home fans at the Maracas Recreation Ground, broke the deadlock in the fifth minute courtesy Handel Manswell while Aaron Peters (32nd) and Sherron Manswell (34th) extended the lead in the space of three minutes.

Deon Thomas pulled one back for Stokely Vale in the 49th but Dillon Bartholomew guaranteed full points for the hosts in the 58th.

WASA got three second-half strikes to blank St Francois Nationals 3-0 at the WASA Ground, St Joseph.

Former national Under-23 captain Shane Calderon (68th), Shervin Charles (86th) and Michael-Lee Celestine (89th) got their names on the scoresheet for WASA.

Eagles United got the better of West Side Super Starz 2-1 in a hard-fought meeting at Woodford Lodge, Chaguanas.

Glenwell John put Eagles in front after two minutes before veteran Christon Freitas evened up the scores in the 66th. The game would remain locked at 1-1 until the 86th minute, when Ian James got the winner for Eagles.

On Monday, Joe Public rallied from a 2-0 half-time deficit to hold 1976 FC Phoenix to a 2-2 draw at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya.

Andel Noray (12th) and Darren Mitchell (25th) gave Phoenix what seemed to be a good cushion but ex-Trinidad and Tobago striker Andre Toussaint responded with a double, in the 53rd and 56th minutes, for the league leaders.
