Primary Schools Boys and Girls champions Carenage Boys Government and Carapichaima Girl’s RC have both advanced to the semi-finals of the Atlantic LNG Primary Schools Football League Knock-Out finals.

Carenage Boys’ whipped Monte Grand Primary 5-0 in the quarter-final at the Arima Velodrome and Carapichaima clobbered Patna River Estate 4- 1 at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella.

At the Velodrome Carlon Hosten gave Carenage the lead after 16 minutes which they took to the half-time interval. At the resumption the 2007 and 2008 champions got a hat-trick from Nikiean Aaron to seal the win.

His goals came in the 49th, 51st and 56th minutes while Jeremy Charles rammed the final nail into Monte Grand’s coffin to confirm their place in the semi-finals.

The 2008 Girl’s champions Carapichaima got a beaver-trick from the league’s top player Zoe Swift to put her team on course for another title this year.

Quinesia Joseph was the lone scorer for Patna River Estate Government. In another quarter-final match-up at Marabella, Santa Flora beat Newtown Boys RC by 4-1 margin to move into the semi-final stage of the competition.

The marksmen for Santa Flora were Levi Garcia and David Jones who both scored twice. Cheyen Stephen scored the lone item for Newtown Boys RC. In another girl’s quarter-final match Claxton Bay got the better of Palo Seco Government 3-0, courtesy goals from sisters Whitney and Camille Thomas.

Lexi Bruno added an insurance item to confirm her team’s spot in the semis. Meanwhile matches in the sister isle of Tobago will be played on Monday.
