Andre Toussaint believes the current “Soca Warriors” outfit will only get better as the World Cup campaign progresses. Toussaint replaced Stern John in the 81st minute of T&T’s 3-0 win.

He was given the chance by Otto Pfister for his good showing in training over the last four months. “It was a good performance and we deserved the 3-0 victory,” Toussaint said. The ex-W Connection player’s quickly taken free kick sent Darryl Roberts through for his second goal.

“I was happy for the opportunity to play. Every player wants to get on the playing field no matter at what stage of the game. We got the free kick and it was an opportunity for us to catch their defence off guard and the play was set up nicely for Darryl,” he said.

“Hopefully now we can build from here. We can get better as a team and I think we will get better as the campaign goes on,” added Toussaint.
