ROXBOROUGH Lakers improved to second in the Premier League of the Tobago Football Association by way of a hard-fought 2-1 triumph over Hills United.
Georgia FC cemented their place with a tough 2-1 victory over Sidey’s also on Wednesday. Kerry Stewart and Marvin Phillips got goals for Georgia while Pavel Warrick scored for Sidey’s
Defending champions Stokely Vale moved into serious contention with a 2-0 shut out of Charlotteville Unifiers with goals from Jermaine Walters and Khrishawn Joseph. And Mega Brite Bethel United whipped Castara Retreats Goal City 2-0 on goals by Curtis Romeo and Kurt Diaz.
Meanwhile, malfunctioning floodlights forced the premature end to the St Clair’s Coaching School vs Earlbrokes in the Premier League of the Tobago Football Association. Tuesday’s match was blown off after 80 minutes with Coaching School leading 2-1 on goals by Vernon Wilson. Tyrone Manning netted for Earlbrokes.
And in Western Conference action 1976 FC Phoenix climbed to the top of the standings after edging Signal Hill United 3-2 also on Tuesday.
Selvon Turner, Ryan Wills and Kevern Marcelle scored one goal each for the winners while Cole Clovis got a double for Signal Hill. Lowly Lambeau FC held Bethel Uprising 2-2 in their game with Ian Thomas and Ancil Campbell scoring for the Lambeau men and Gary Cadiz hitting back with a double.
