YOUNG soccer starlets will get their chance to showcase their talents when Port of Spain and Environs host a FIFA/TT FA National Primary School Football League Grassroots Programme at Nelson Mandela Park (formerly King George V Park) today.

This training session will begin at 1 pm and end at 3 pm. 

According to National Primary School Football League public relations officer Kelvin Nancoo, a total of 35 primary schools, boys and girls in the Port of Spain and Environs District have been selected. 

The training session will cater for soccer starlets between the ages of six to 13 years old. 

Each selected school has been asked to send 20 students in football gear to the session. 

Nancoo said, since the programme will be ongoing, a teacher must accompany young starlets, as the teacher will be part of the day’s activity. The training programme is geared towards the preparation of the soccer starlets for competition next year. 

Schools selected for today’s session are - 

St Agnes AC; Tranquillity Govt, Gaines Normal AME, Newtown Boys’ RC, Newtown Girls’ RC, St Catherine AC, Nelson Street Boys’ RC, Nelson Street Girls’ RC, Bethlehem Boys’ RC, Bethlehem Girls’ RC, Successs RC, St Theresa’s RC, Mucurapo Boys RC; Mucurapo Girls’ RC, Richmond Street Boys’ RC, Cocorite Govt, Diego Martin Govt, Pt Cumana RC, Pt Cumana Govt, Carenage Boys’ Govt, Carenage Girls Govt, Crystal Stream Govt, Petit Valley Girls’ RC, Petit Valley Boys’ RC, Chinapoo Govt, St Dominic’s RC, Eastern Boys’ Govt, Eastern Girls’ Govt, St Hilda Govt, Belmont Boys’ Govt, St Margaret’s AC, St Barb’s Govt, Diamond Vale Govt, Maraval RC, Hokett Baptist.
