Nice to see a fresh face running for President.

David John seems ok, but from what I heard is he does not like Stephan Hart, I could and hope I am wrong.

Stephan Hart is the best thing happen to T&T.

I just hope he is not another stubborn man like Warner was and wants the best for T&T and not his club.

Good going by T&T, Hart really is the best.

Anyone knows how Gavin Hoyte looked?

And I heard that Carlyle Mitchell may not get call up again, he was not willing to join T&T for the Gold Cup and some other games.

still insufficient crowd, no rhythm section, mote noise by the straggling visitors than the locals.

That is to tell you the state we football has reached. I could guarantee to you that a whole generation of people never have been to a pro game. Also, LA left most of the "stars" back in Galaxy land. So we played their "2nd XI". We have a lot of improvement to do. At least Central has to improve drastically. There is always next year.
Well what will happen when we play USA in November? We better start advertising from now yes

Doh hold your breath, the TTFA cannot plan anything 10 days in advance.

What was the crowd attendance, anyone?

This was Central's game. They and the proleague are the ones who should be getting their fans to the game. TTFA should be in partnership to assist in anyway they can. But could you guys imagine Tim Kee calling FS and Sancho to help them advertise the game?

Deeks, we was referring to the T&T vs USA game.

Football / Re: Who should the new PM name Minister of Sport?
« on: September 10, 2015, 04:21:10 PM »
What socapro said.

I'd be surprised if it's Brian, though.

Former sportsman helps, but isn't critical to being effective at the job.

Most critical trait is someone who is not afraid to go in there and force change. Same foolishness in the same broken system equals same results.

Even if I wanted to, I couldn't, so interesting to hear my name called in it, but it's not even a remote possibility.

I will certainly be willing to work with the next Minister in a meaningful way, since I am more involved now than I have probably ever been in my history with TNT, with more plans/developments involving my national involvement to be revealed in the next 3 months.

Good luck Ato, I hope you get the support, you know how everyone comes in to T&T government have some personal issue and greed.

Is there any plans for it?

How the tables have turned. Now I am sure Sancho is feeling that he should have been better towards the TTFA.

TTFA monitoring alleged Sancho/Harrison payment request; Visé responds.
by Lasana Liburd.

Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) general secretary Sheldon Phillips confirmed that the local football body is monitoring a request, sent by then Central FC operations director Kevin Harrison’s email address, which asked for a “personal payment” for Harrison and then club chairman Brent Sancho related to a club transfer.

At the time, Belgium lower division club, CS Visé, was negotiating the transfer of Central attacker Rundell Winchester as well as three other current Central players, Willis Plaza, Elton John and Kevon Villaroel, who were believed to have been free agents at the time.

The email, which was sent on 27 August 2014 and published exclusively by Wired868, asked Visé representative Steve Davies to “slip in (a) personal payment” to Sancho and Harrison that was to be sent through Western Union rather than to Central’s bank account and split evenly between the two men.

At present, Sancho is the Minister of Sport and UNC’s candidate for Toco/Sangre Grande while Harrison is employed as Advisor to the Minister of Sport.

Phillips said the TTFA, which Sancho often accused of a lack of transparency, is “very, very concerned” and suggested that a formal investigation was a distinct possibility.

“We are certainly paying attentions to the allegations in the (Wired868) story,” Phillips told Wired868. “We are looking at the information and we are very, very concerned about the allegation.

“The (FIFA) player transfer regulations will come into play here. And, if there is a situation with an improper transfer, as it falls under FIFA, it also falls under the jurisdiction of the relevant member association, which is the TTFA.”

Davies, a British agent who represented Sancho during his professional career in Britain, was a Visé official at the time and confirmed the email from Harrison. However, Davies said he considered the request to be illegal and quickly blanked it.

The football agent said Visé had agreed to fly Sancho and Harrison to Belgium to discuss a possible collaboration between the two clubs. But he claimed the issue of a personal payment was never raised during formal discussions with Sancho and he promptly rebuffed the email from Harrison’s account.

“Kevin, I don’t know what (you’re) on about regarding any personal payments,” stated Davies’ email, which was sent within hours of the request, “as the deal was that the club will make three payments to your club…”

Davies said Harrison never responded to his email and the matter appeared closed.

However, financial problems at Visé brought its collaboration with Central to a swift end and Winchester and Plaza returned to Trinidad within three months, followed by John, Villaroel and English coach Terry Fenwick.

Phillips said, even though it appears that the “personal payment” was never made, the TTFA may still be able to take action against Sancho and Harrison for intent.

“You still have a question of intent,” Phillips told Wired868, “so just because the transaction wasn’t completed doesn’t mean the intention wasn’t there.

“At this point in time, we are looking around and observing to see what else transpires. But we are extremely concerned about what we have heard so far.”

Sancho and Harrison have both ignored requests for comment on the email to Davies.

Anybody following this TTFA run league. I really asking the homies. The super league appears to be more community based league. They play a true home and away schedule. So all the people who are longing for community teams, why are they not supporting these teams? I also want to clarify something here with Club Sando. Are they a Moruga based team playing in San Fernando? I am assuming that the pro team will be playing in Skinner Park, while the super league team play in Moruga? Anyone ? Flex, Tallman?

Not sure Deeks, I'll see if I can find out more,,, the Super League under All Sports are definitely run better than the Pro League.

They are more organised to their fixtures and the time frame (not in line with Europe that is affecting the Pro League), however, they can surely improve on detailed match reports.

All leagues in T&T should start the same time, this is why all heads much come together and work together.

Imagine, if the FA Cup starts tomorrow, chances are a Super League team could win because they are already 7 games into their season.

Point Fortin lost some of their support because they went Pro. Expect the same for Club Sando, unless they get Skinner park.

Pro League and Super League games should be made double headers.

Maybe All Sport might make Super League and Championship Games double headers?

Some good ideas, but Skeene head is to big to work together with the SL or vise versa?

I just have to smile at the attempts to confuse from facts.
Everyone knows that the TTFA hasn't done its accounts since 2008, according to Rastaman. True. But what does that have to do with FIFA regulations? Is that the TTFA's defence? You know I ent do it so what allyuh asking for it for?
If the audit was supposed to go to FIFA at the end of March, then why is KPMG's departure in June relevant?
And, as I showed in my article looking at the constitution and Tim Kee's specific duties, Jack Warner would never have been able to leave the TTFF/TTFA finances in the state it is in without the help of Raymond Tim Kee.
And why do I mention Tim Kee's other job titles like Mayor of POS and PNM Treasurer?
It is fact and up to readers to decide if it is relevant or not.
For instance, the TTFA has no money coming from FIFA. The TTFA has no money coming from private sector. The TTFA relies almost entirely on taxpayers money. And yet the TTFA president has refused to meet the Minister of Sport, regardless of the impact on his football body.
At this point, some readers might consider Tim Kee's political role to possibly have some bearing with the country on a brink of a general election.
But, if you don't, then just gloss past it and pay it no mind.

Good talk Lasana.

So the TTFA got their 9.9 mill from the goverernment?

They got their Gold Cup prize money, what ever is left from it.

They got FIFA grants until June.

The coaching staff and players are paid by the MOS.

They do not pay a rent.

They didn't pay anything for the PanAm teams.

How come they still broke? where is all the money going and what percentage do they contribte?

They have all these big members and they seem like they are forever struggling in the admin department, how come?

Did they use up th money on their new website and board members?

Maybe Flex can asked the TTFA some of these questions?

As for this latest KPMG drammer, why did they hire the same company Jack Warner dealt with for years?

Just to reply to some of the points made by Deeks & KD. There is no belief that Tim-Kee is corrupt. However it is felt within the Ministry and SPORTT that TTFA receive far too much, do not manage their finances correctly, are very secretive about their finances, arrogantly expect MoS to foot every bill presented and their achievements do not equate to the investment made by MoS on behalf of the taxpayers. These are not all necessarily the view of Sancho, but people who help to orchestrate policy and implementation.

TTFA had complaints about the previous Permanent Secretary, yet within a month of the new P.S. taking office, she had serious concerns. Not being a "football person" she was unaware that TTFA would also receive travel grants from CONCACAF for Gold Cup. This caused serious questions to be asked and that lack of transparency will now haunt any TTFA funding requests.

The scheduling of games is another concern. If TTFA can fund them, then that's great. But if support is expected then MoS should have been consulted in the planning stage. The fiscal year ends in September and new money won't flow until end of October. Also, how can MoS budget for expenses that they don't know about? This is the same prob;em with Match fees and stipends. MoS doesn't negotiate them so why should they pay them? How can one party agree a figure with another party without knowing if the third party can actually pay?

This is where the conflict happens. And RTK can always run to the press and complain and he knows that during an election season this will damage Sancho.

FROM A TTFA Insider

Just to reply to some of the points made by Deeks & KD. There is no belief that Tim-Kee is corrupt. However it is felt within the Ministry and SPORTT that TTFA receive far too much, do not manage their finances correctly, are very secretive about their finances, arrogantly expect MoS to foot every bill presented and their achievements do not equate to the investment made by MoS on behalf of the taxpayers. These are not all necessarily the view of Sancho, but people who help to orchestrate policy and implementation.
Based on what criteria do we “receive far too much”? Based on what evidence do we “not manage our finances correctly”. Remember, this is a ministry that is steeped in financial impropriety. The MOS has routinely changed their commitment and expect us to properly plan, then when we do locate other funding Sancho makes an issue of that by coding that we aren’t being transparent.

We have a number of emails that were shared with MOS that show the breakdown of how the CONCACAF money would have been used and as far back as June 29, we alerted MOS about the CONCACAF funds and how we would use them for the other national teams since the MOS themselves stated our had run out.

I also wonder what criteria they use to measure “achievement” and how much taxpayers dollars should be provided based on their arbitrary achievement. Do you see the insincerity and disingenuousness of his statement? Coupled with the fact that the senior team under Stephen Hart has very successful and are entering the fourth round of world cup qualifying because of the banner year they had in 2014. Lastly, they had a great Gold Cup, including playing in the “greatest match of the Gold Cup history” vs. Mexico. Clearly the money has been a wise investment as people are excited about this team once again.

Also, we don’t expect the MOS to foot every bill. The MOS has paid for travel, match fees, and hotel traditionally. This has been a long standing arrangement and when we first began speaking with Sancho and staff, these were the three items they committed to continue supporting. The problem is some in the ministry, including Sancho, believe the player match fees are too high which is an incredible statement considering the match fees he was getting when he played was more. On the other hand, I prefer a sliding scale match fee system where the players will get $--- for a loss, $---- for a tie, and $---- for a win. Currently, they get $same amount for a win, lose, or draw.

This is funny because Brent and Kevin hated the previous PS and actually forced him out. Furthermore, our complaints about the previous PS were more than understandable. He was very much the cause of the distrust that arose. The current PS is working with as we speak and Kevin is in no position to speak on her behalf. We fully explained how the CONCACAF funds were used and backed up our explanation with records.

Kevin is speaking out of turn once again. As recently as this afternoon, William Wallace was meeting with the PS to go over the budget for the upcoming budgets for the friendly matches in September and October. Now get this; these budgets were submitted back in April and included the FIFA calendar dates. But the most ridiculous line is about the match fees; “MOS doesnt negotiate them so why should they pay them?” That speaks clearly about Sancho and Harrison’s expectation to run the FA because they provide the funding. So they want to now negotiate our player match fees and match contracts? They already try to tell us who we can take on our staff on trips. There are people in MOS who do not understand their job is to facilitate and serve sporting bodies NOT RUN THEM.

Even though they repeatedly say they don’t want to run football, we get the distinct impression that we have to ask their permission to do anything or else they will threaten to cut off funding and that my friend is classic government interference and why FIFA is so harsh on the matter when they see it. If we weren’t willing to fight and manage this, FIFA would have the right to suspend our FA and keep the senior team from participating in world cup qualifiers.

This is where the conflict happens. And RTK can always run to the press and complain and he knows that during an election season this will damage Sancho.
Another ridiculous statement. Brent cannot see a microphone or camera he is able to turn away from and he was the one who repeatedly made incorrect statements about the TTFA. Our two releases were directly caused by comments Sancho made to the press. Whatever, pressure Sancho is now getting he brought on himself. Check out Lasana’s articles since he became minister and tell me who has been the aggressor.

The PM gives the 2006 players $1.3 million US and says it has nothing to do with the TTFA and the legal case should continue and they say we are playing politics. They tell us they won’t support playing New Zealand in Los Angeles even though our airfare, hotel, and ground expenses were paid for by New Zealand because they wanted the match to be played in Trinidad since it was on the week of local elections AND THEY HAVE THE NERVE TO SAY WE ARE PLAYING POLITICS.

The more a man speaks of honor, the quicker I check the spoons when walks out the door.

Nice insight Flex.

FS made his comments and it was answered. Fair deal.

Both parties need to come together cause I am sure both have good and bad points.

Its sad that Sancho have tured a full time politician and he was the one always fighting for T&T football players.

If he so cares, why not revisit the FPATT?

“All of a sudden, despite saying they spent all the money they received from CONCACAF and the fact that the General Secretary said they only had TT$30,000 in their account just over a month ago, they found the money to send their team to St Vincent.

“How much money did they really receive from Concacaf?”

Very interesting quotes from Sancho.

Only one thing tough, $100,000 USD cant do much for all these national teams.

But obviously, the TTFA has a money hole somewhere and Tim Kee is hiding it or they just decide to cut ties with the MOS?? but something is not right with both the TTFA and MOS.

Sancho, is really a big let down.

And Tim Kee and Sheldon seems very sneaky.

I'm also interested to hear how Sancho let you down... What exactly did he do, after hearing all the facts about TTFA and TK, I don't know how one can surmise Sancho is a let down... He can't extract blood from a stone... TK has to meet him half way, if TK walking out meetings and don't want to be accountable and transparent , how can you blame Sancho?

Right now we need accountability, transparency and organization.. Words TK is running from and to be honest, we don't need political games now, we need progress with our football.. We need games to happen and prep to happen for the wcq ... Sancho and the MOS want this, But does the TTFA want this? Maybe Sheldon willing but he's being led by a false prophet..

I don't normally reply to you cause I notice your constant nag on everyone. You are like the house wife of this site.

Didn't Tim Kee say that KPMG is the keep back? Why not give them a call and asked them to send Sancho the reports faster?

Didn't he also say they send Sancho reports from 2008 to 2011?

Football / Re: John Bostock Thread
« on: July 29, 2015, 03:05:16 AM »
Cant believe Simon wrote this, thought it was Prescott.

UK-born Bostock among possible T&T newcomers.
By Nigel Simon (Guardian).

Former England youth international John Bostock could be among a possible influx of new European and North American based talent added to the Soca Warriors squad ahead of the kick-off of the Concacaf World Cup qualifiers for Russia 2018, which begins on November 13.

On the weekend, the 64th world ranked Soca Warriors, given a bye in the first three rounds along with powerhouse and 34th ranked USA was drawn in Group C along with 105th ranked Guatemala or 107th Antigua & Barbuda, and 135th ranked Aruba or 115th St Vincent and The Grenadines.

And following yet another impressive Concacaf Gold Cup in then USA, where T&T defeated Guatemala (3-1) and Cuba (2-0) and battled to an entertaining 4-4 draw with eventual champions Mexico to top Pool C before a 6-5 sudden-death penalty-kicks loss to Panama after a 1-1 draw, coach Hart, who also led T&T to the quarters in 2013 before a 1-0 loss ?? to Mexico has now set his sights on World Cup qualification and bolstering his squad.

Top of the list is 23-year-old Antwerp midfielder Bostock who has an English passport, but his father is from T&T, his mother from Scotland.

In a recent interview in Belgium in Sport/Voetbalmagazine, in Belgium, Bostock was quoted as: “Since i came to the surface again at Antwerp, T&T national team has sounded me out a few times.

Soca Warriors duo Khaleem Hyland (ex-Genk) and Sheldon Bateau (KV Mechelen) also ply their trade in Belgium, but Bostock noted that he had not spoken with them about a possible selection and hopes to make a name for himself first in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League.

He said, “I am also not rushed to make a decision, let me first try to put my stamp print in the Jupiler Pro League.”

Bostock, who grew up in South London, won promotion with OV Leuven in Belgium and is enjoying football after struggling to make the breakthrough at Tottenham.

He is also still being monitored by England as a recent report stated that while the England Under-21 team were in action this summer, Bostock is not among them.   :rotfl: this sentence make sense guys?

It added, “The man who captained the Under-17s and scored a stunner in a European Championship semi-final for the U19s, is still eligible for the Under-21 squad (Bostock is 23), but Gareth Southgate was unlikely to be aware of that fact given that Bostock himself didn’t know. “I wasn’t aware of that actually,” he says. “I’m still young!”

Described as a beautiful footballer with a wand of a left foot, Bostock wasn’t quite the face that launched 1,000 ships but Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan was famously prepared to go to war when the teenager jumped to Tottenham for an initial fee of £700k decided by tribunal. Such was his frustration, Jordan threatened to dismantle Palace’s youth system in response.

Bostock made a high-profile switch to Tottenham aged 16 years old and included loan spells at Brentford, Hull, Sheffield Wednesday, Swindon and Toronto FC, but Bostock never played more than 11 games for any one of them while Andros Townsend and Harry Kane endured similarly nomadic journeys before finding their feet.

He was contacted by former Holland international to move out to Antwerp and since then he has not regretted the move.

A good season at Antwerp was followed by a move to second division rivals Leuven and the 2014/15 season brought 12 goals and promotion via the play-offs.

So highly rated was Bostock that he was featured in an England youth midfield which included Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere and Swansea City’s Jonjo Shelvey.

Contacted for comment on whether or not Bostock was being sought after to represent T&T as was the case in 2013 by then interim national coach Hutson “Barber” Charles, Hart said, “Yes. We are having some discussions concerning making a call to Bostock and a few other players who can represent T&T.”

“At the moment there is nothing concrete to confirm about any of the players, as they are still weighing their options, so its an ongoing process and one which we hope to conclude in the not too distant future.”

Another source close to the situation noted that a major concern for the targeted players is the ongoing feud between the T&T Football Association and the Ministry of Sports’ Minister, Brent Sancho, as well as the long-term planning of the association.

“Some of the targeted players are all aware of the current state of affairs with our football, with regards to funding, preparations and organisation and once we don’t have our house in order, they will not want to make themselves available to us,” added the source.

Looking ahead to the national’s team build up to the World Cup qualifiers which will include a friendly international against Mexico in Texas in September, Hart said he will once again be faced with a difficult situation of not having many overseas players to work with while the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League which begins in the first week of August will also pose a problem.

“We have a situation now where most of the overseas players are either into their seasons already or in the midst of pre-season and locally, we have most of the guys getting ready to play in the Concacaf Champions League.

“You have to remember that most of the locally based players come from the two local clubs in the Concacaf Champions League in Central FC and W Connection, and during the CCL, it will be tough to have them at my personel.”

“But hopefully we will be able to put the guys together at the end of August, and start our World Cup qualification preparation,” ended Hart.

The ref for the Mexico games vs Costa Rica and Panama was paid off.

I hope their FA's take this matter to FIFA.

I T&T played the way they did in the Gold Cup for the upcoming world cup qualifiers, we will surely grab one of the top three spots, but we must prepare well, its not going to be easy.

Fitness, experiece and depth is the key.

I agree that the money is from the people of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and not any Government minister.   And if they did secure money from MOS I don't see they need to thank them publicly everytime.  It is a national team.  The ministry is supposed to provide funding and make sure our guys are comfortable while they represent the country.  If they get corcorporate sponsors then they can go out of their way to thank them. Also as far as I knowknow if CNMG facilitated the deal then that would be the ministry of communication (or something like that)  and they can be thanked and praised for supporting the team since it is not the job that ministry to promote sports and the minster could have easily put the money towards something else.

Well said toonmili.

Sancho acting like the money is coming from his pocket. Why didn't they bring the games since the group stage then?

And FS remember, this is our country and you are a welcome guest here, just be careful not to get carried away with your position, please, it hurts to know that a foreigner could talk like this all of a sudden and not to long ago he was totally a different person.

Central FC was a victim of government (the current one) abuse for a long time, so he knows the feeling.

Like his attitude, but technically Williams is very vernarable with his clearences.

David catch his ass to.

James was poor and could have stopped that goal.

Kenwyne show he can play if he wants to. If we can get him to play like that every game, we will win the dam thing. He was the reason mexico scored 2 goals though, but his performance erase that.

Cummings, neat and sweet, about time we got a genuine left footer.

Congrats to Hart and his troops.
