My information from speaking with one of the teams involved is that TTFF was trying to get three teams from T&T (instead of the usual two) into the qualifying stages, however at a meeting between CFU and Concacaf, CFU informed Concacaf about TTFF's request but Concacaf refused and T&T had to stay with the two teams.
Now because the deadline was fast approaching for the relevant Football Associations to submit their qualifiers, since they had already accomodated T&T by giving them additional time (the teams are supposed to be given to CFU by January 2012) and the TT Pro League qualifiers would have been decided in April/May 2012, a decision was made in December 2011 that the two top teams at the end of the second round of the TT Pro League would qualify and the two teams were W Connection & Caledonia AIA. This was conveyed to all of the teams and so they were all aware.
We have to understand that this happened because of the change of the end of the League's season from December to April/May.
T&TEC however by virtue of placing second in the Pro League for 2011/2012 qualify alongside W Connection for next year's Competition.

Have expectations for not a dyam one. This is not Jamaica but Trinidad and Tobago. A bunch of lazy, doh care, unpatriotic jokers in Trinidad. Dozens of stations but lucky if yuh geh one to be interested to broadcast and get some advertizers. Most people don't know the games are on and couldn't give a shite if people come in we country and eat we effin lunch clean. Try dat in Guatemala nah and see how dem Guats go reac'.

No crowd support ..... and yuh lose yuh advantage that some work hard to earn.

Well done Connection. A win at home with a YOUNG, MOSTLY LOCAL team AND with little home support.
Beating those Haitian teams is an accomplishment these days .. and I mean it.
Them fellahs in Haiti does compete seriously with the absolute minimum of resources.
So thanks to the Socawarriors.net for being a SOLE SOURCE of football information.

Guys, it is kinder of weird for me when I see Surinamese team doing so badly.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Transvaal_1975.jpg

This team and Robin Hood were giants in my young. So too were Maple, Malvern, Tecsa, Point, Sando juniors, etc, etc

Well done Connection. Maybe this is argument for the belief that T&T Pro League is getting better.
Excellent result. Time to dominate this CFU business, win money to participate in CONCACAF Club Championship, get international exposure for the youtmen ballers and get a few players seen in the recruiter shopwindow and make some money for the club and get some ratings for T&T players that pave the way for others.

This Antigua club is actually  Antigua national team. It will be interesting to see how W. connection do Friday again Barracuda FC. This game will be for the division lead. If Barracuda FC win, they will finish first. This Antigua club is playing with 7 players on their roster who were part of their National team who defeated Haiti  and will be competing against the US, Jamaica and Guatemala for a world cup spot..

Islanders hold Caledonia.
T&T Express Reports.

Trinidad and Tobago's Caledonia AIA opened their Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Champions challenge with a 0-0 draw against two-time defending CFU Club Champions Puerto Rico Islanders on Monday night at Annett Field, Cayman Islands.

The tournament was hit by the late withdrawal of Haitian champs Baltimore Sportif. Caledonia were supposed to play the Haitians on Monday.

As a result of Baltimore's withdrawal, the tournament will now be contested between Caledonia, Puerto Rican Islanders and Cayman club George Town, with the top two teams in the group advancing to the next round.

Caledonia AIA, currently with one point, meet George Town SC from 9.30 tonight, while Puerto Rico Islanders and George Town end the series on Friday night. A victory tonight will see Caledonia through to the next round.

The group opened Monday night with the goalless draw between Caledonia and the Islanders, a match played in a downpour. More than eight inches (20 centimetres) of rain fell on Grand Cayman on Monday, forcing the closing of all public primary and secondary schools Tuesday.

Second Round–Group 4 Fixtures

Today

Caledonia AIA vs George Town SC, 9.30 p.m., Annett Field

Friday May 25

George Town SC vs Puerto Rico Islanders, 9 p.m., Annett Field

The Haitian had traveled to Dominican republic trying to reach the Cayman Island because there is no direct fly from Haiti to this Island.. there was only one connecting fly but it was from DR to the US and then to the Cayman Island...Baltimore couldn't get US visa..there were only 6 players on the team with prior US Visa..they were stopped at the Dominican republic airport..and couldn't make the trip..

In CFU Club Championship Second Round action last night, Caledonia AIA defeated George Town 5-0 on goals by Devon Jorsling (47', 70'), Trevin Caesar (72', 76'), and Conrad Smith 80'. With the victory, Caledonia joins W-Connection and Antigua Barracuda in the final round.

Congrats to Cali. Unfortunate for Baltimore. This is what CFU needs to work on. The unbelieveable nightmare logistics of inter island travel. This can't be tru in this day and age. Why could they not go to JA and hop over to Cayman.

Indeed, It's unfortunate, the Haitian would of made the tournament more interesting, the Haitian team had eliminated both Trini teams(Defensive Force and Caledonia) Last year..it would of been interesting to measure against Haitian this year again..

Even traveling to Jamaica is not easy...there is no direct fly between many Islands....Haitian don't go to Trinidad and Jamaica and Trinis and Jamaican don't go to Haiti to visit unless it is sport related....Just recently that Haitian team Victory that made it to Trinidad went through hell to reach Trinidad.. The players had to travel in three different planes in three different countries to reach Trinidad..

By the way you're not funny Sam...about swimming to Florida..The Cubans do that...
the Haitian catch the boat...LOL

Doh worry with sam true, he resides in new york to be exact, which is very much a cosmopolitan metropolis, and he still behaves like a country bumpkin. IMO sam have ah real beef with african ppl, and even though many haitians are of non afro decent, in his mind he could only see the afro image. if i was you i would not take his comments to heart, he will grow up one day.
The pen is mightier than the sword, Africa for Africans home and abroad.Trinidad is not my home just a pit stop, Africa is my destination, final destination the MOST HIGH.
