Mid-Continent's men's soccer team needed to rebound after a disappointing loss last saturday. On Thursday, Keagan Bacchus helped the team do just that.

Bacchus scored a pair of goals in the Cougars (4-3) 3-1 victory over the Missouri Baptist Spartans (0-5-1), and he assisted on the game winner as well.

For the third consecutive match, the Cougars tallied within the first 10 minutes. With just 2:38 elapsed, the Cougars earned a corner kick, and Bacchus cashed in. Jan Chvojan played the ball into the box, and Bacchus flicked it in to make the score 1-0 Mid-Continent.

Tyler Kuehner equalized just six minutes later, off a Cougars' turnover, beating Andres Blanco to level the score at 1-1.

As the match continued, Mid-Continent carried the play and in the 27th minute, Bacchus found Chvojan who scored what proved to be the game winner. Bacchus tallied an unassisted marker early in the second half to provide the final margin of 3-0.

Chvojan and Bacchus continue to be the two leading scorers on the team, with Chvojan posting a team-high 16 points (6 G, 4 A) and Bacchus adding 10 points (4 G, 2 A). Andres Blanco (3-0) earned the win in goal for Mid-Continent while Ethan Brunk (0-5-1) took the loss for the Spartans.

Mid-Continent will now have to deal with their longest layoff of the season. The Cougars next match is not until September 27th - a break of 12 days - at Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville. The match is slated for 4 p.m.
