Steven Joseph scored with two minutes left in the match as Point Fortin Civic Centre bagged its first title of the season in the Southern Football Association via a 2-1 triumph over OJ Soldado All Stars in the Executive Cup final at the Mahaica Oval, Point Fortin, on Thursday night.

With the first title at stake in the SFA, both clubs took to the field at Point Fortin before a lively crowd with great ambition. However, at the end of the first half the score was still 0-0.

Within 13 minutes of the restart, Nicholson Thompson opened the scoring for home town club Point Fortin but former national midfielder Linsie Sherwood got All Stars back on level terms when he converted a 73rd minute penalty.

The match then seemed headed for the dreaded penalty kicks when Joseph snatched a late winner to secure the $6,000 winner’s prize while All Stars had to settle for $4,000 as runner-up.
