A 14th minute strike by Jonathan Marcelle helped Caroni Connection to maintain its unbeaten run in the Premier Division of the Central Football Association when he netted the lone goal to steer his side past Balmain Flamingo 1-0 last Sunday on the Couva Recreation Ground.

In the other match at the same venue, Couva Sports got past Caution Cap Off Youths 1-0 with striker Jason Mills getting the only goal of the match in the 75th minute.

Newcomer, Eagles kept in striking distance of Caroni Connection by slamming Couva Sports 5-2 on Thursday to stay three points adrift of the leader with a match in hand.

Arnold Ferguson led the scoring with a double. Couva Sports ended the match with nine players, as Ahkeil Mollon and Andrason Hypolite both received red cards. A hat-trick by Kelvin Ramnath helped Leeds United past St Mary’s United 5-2 in the other match on Thursday.
