Donovan Derrick left it late but nevertheless sealed all three points in Joe Public’s 2-1 victory against 1976 FC Phoenix in the blink/ bmobile National Super Fotball League, yesterday, at Canaan Ground, Bon Accord, Tobago.

Derrick’s 87th minute effort was enough to put Joe Public on 12 points and second in the league standings, at least temporarily.  Shelton Williams put the hosts up 1-0 in the 35th, but Phoenix were unable to make the effort count as Brent Antoine responded just two minutes later to keep the sides level to the half.

Both sides pressed in the second half but Joe Public was the team able to make their efforts count in the end when Derrick sealed the 2-1 win.  Phoenix will remain on seven points and seventh place on ten-team table.

Given Eagles United are able to get a result against West Side Super Starzs tomorrow, when Match Day Seven continues, Phoenix will then drop to second to bottom in the standings.

Tomorrow,  Club Sando will travel north to challenge Defence Force at the Youth Camp, Chaguaramas at 3:30 pm, just before league leaders, Stokely Vale host Real Maracas at 4 pm at the Plymouth Recreation Ground, Tobago.

In the late 5 pm fixture, second place WASA and last place St Francois Nationals will battle at WASA Ground, St Joseph.
