FORMER champions Georgia United continue to enjoy a fine run in the 2008 edition of the Digicel Tobago Football Association competition.

In comparison to their form of recent seasons when they have been fighting to avoid the drop to the conference division, registered their sixth win out of eight this season on Wednesday to hold a three-point lead over Roxborough Lakers at the top of the Tobago Football Association (TFA) Premier Division.

In their most recent effort, Georgia edged Sidey·s FC 2-1 on home turf at the River Bank Oval in Mt St George.

Kerry Stewart and Marvin Phillips did the trick for the winners, who lead the pack with 19 points.

Pavel Warrick netted for Sidey's, who have slipped down the standings to fifth spot from fourth. They have  13 points following the defeat.

2005 and 2007 FA Cup winners, Lakers continue their upward movement on the ladder with a 2-1 triumph as well over Pepsi Hill United at Richmond.

Doing the business for Lakers (16) were Shamir Reid and Elon Mc Conney as they moved from third place into second berth.

Mega Brite Bethel United also took two giant steps up the table with a comfortable 2-0 shut-out of a struggling Castara Retreats Goal City outfit in the first game of a double-header at Goodwood. Curtis Romeo and Kurt Cadiz scored for the victors. Bethel United are now in sixth spot on 11 points.

Charlotville Unifiers' miserable run this season remained continued as they dumped to a 2-0 defeat to defending champions Stokely Vale in the second game at Goodwood on Wednesday.

The two items for Stokely Vale were scored by Jamaine Walters and Khrishawn Joseph. The success advanced the champs three places to fourth in the race for end-of- season glory. Unfiers, who won the title in 2005, are languishing three places from the bottom on the 12-club standings.
