"Moral certainty is always a sign of cultural inferiority.  The more uncivilized the man, the surer he is that he knows precisely what is right and what is wrong.  All human progress, even in morals, has been the work of men who doubted current moral values, not of men who tried to enforce them."

Socachatter, the series you're thinking of is Man from Atlantis and the actor is Patrick Duffy. Aired on Friday nights? (or was that Hulk?) and gripped us all ... what I didn't know until now (via a quick wikipedia check) is that the series was cancelled after only 17 episodes ... I seem to remember a lifetime of the man breathing under water on TTT...

Football ballet ... doan know if daz de official name  ... I eh read all seven pages deeply maybe somebody has mentioned this already ... I jes skimmed ...

Remember those German documentaries ... TRANSTEL ... ent in between dem sometimes they would show scenes from the Bundesliga with man doing all sort of obzocky things like spitting and taking it back ... or beatsing man in reverse?

The other German scene I remember is those contests between towns (also on Transtel) ... real serious competition on some wacky obstacle courses ...
