Chinese need more beef
h Westerners BEIJING, March 6 (Reuters) - Chinese footballers need to eat beef and drink milk if they are to play, and fight, with Westerners on a level playing field, according to a member of the advisory body to China's parliament.
Last month's brawl between China's under-21 team and English club Queens Park Rangers proved that Chinese athletes did not have enough brawn, according to Zhang Xinshi, a biology researcher from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
"You can't just say you aren't used to eating beef and drinking milk and leave it at that," Zhang said during a discussion of Chinese agriculture at this week's meeting of the advisory body CPPCC.
"Our football can't reach a higher level. We are only good at skilful sports. Running for two 45 minute halves on such a large pitch at speeds like 100m, how can (our) bodies do that?
"We all saw the recent fight in England and they (the players) were beaten to a pulp.
"Sounds tragic? But if you are as strong as a buffalo how can they beat you up? Therefore I don't think we should advocate the Chinese grain-eating tradition."
Chinese defender Zheng Tao was taken to hospital with a fractured jaw after the 30-man fight during an ill-tempered friendly at QPR's training ground, which provoked a media storm in China.
QPR assistant manager Richard Hill was interviewed by police for his part in the fracas but English media reported on Monday that no charges would be brought against him.
A WARNING.
I hope you realise that Sunderland is on of the most racist towns in the UK today, the people there still judge people by the colour of their skin, only recently an African dance troupe were racially abused and spat upon while in the town centre trying to drum up some support for their show at the town hall that night and during an England International held there, there were loud sections of the crowd chanting racial abuse which the country was punished for.
Hope this doesnt happen on your trip!

told you we were the best supporters in the world, check out the bit about the T & T flag
Cartman, Supa and de bois here we were very upset when Carlos joined Sunderland, not because of anything personal wid de club, but we know he is EPL material, and just wanted him tuh go directly and play fuh ah club in de EPL, rather than trying tuh get promoted tuh de EPL. Wid dat said, big men is big men, and ah boi is ah boi. All yuh know we over here never think we too big tuh aplologise tuh another member or admit when we were wrong. Any way meh point is that Sunderland are really taking de Enterprise by storm, we must admit dat. Of course we have 3 T&T players at de club, which make de love even stronger, but when you read how happy de players are at de club, the number of fans dat come out to the games and and how much involved they are wid de team, den the T&T flag dey designed, you have tuh fall in love wid de club. We recently signed up for de SMB, and we are looking tuh order kits wid Yorke, Carlos and Stern. De people here who haven't checked out de SMB,take some time and check out de board, you don't have to sign up and be a member, just check it out, trust me, dey have ah lot of interesting stuff there. Big up tuh socawarriors.net also, our forum is sweet as can be, but we cannot compare SMB wid our forum, dey are both excellent boards, dat are sweet in diiferent ways, we would never compare them. HIGHLY BLESSED.
Hey Supa, great post mate. I understand what you say about wanting Carlos to join an EPL club but Sunderland are bigger than a lot of the clubs in the EPL anyway.
Sunderland is a club that gets under your skin, many players feel it when they play for us, many players after playing at Sunderland say that Sunderland is now their club. Please don't be upset about us being a Championship club as we will soon be in the EPL, maybe not next season but soon.
With our Irish connection we now have 6 plane loads of Irish fans flying over to every home game, maybe soon we shall see some T&T guys flying in.
Stay chilled Dude
Hmmm... Somebody better teach dem Sunderland fans to sing "T&T! We want a goal!!"Mose, ya ready?
I Dont find this is Funny and i now hater Newcastle fans.. i mean you could have sung about Dwight but u didnt need to disrespect the man son so
f**k OFF YOU JORDIE c**tS TROPHYLESS FOR 52 YEARS AND COUNTING
Small Mag, you see ONE video on YouTube with about 10 people singing and you hate ALL Geordies and all Newcastle fans? All clubs have their fair share of imbeciles.
He was spot on man...
Preston striker Brett Ormerod scored his fifth goal of the season from Callum Davidson's through ball just after the half hour. Liam Miller was sent off for two bookable offences shortly after and while they pressed and pressed, Sunderland never really looked like creating a chance that would get them something out of the tie.
Keane said: "We're disappointed and we felt we deserved to get something out of the game but it wasn't to be.
"Considering we only had 10 men we had lots of possession, and we had one or two half chances towards the end.
"It can be a cruel game sometimes and it's been a cruel day for us today because I thought the players were outstanding.
"We made one mistake, playing the offside for the goal, and we got punished for it. You've got to give Preston credit because they didn't have too many chances but they took it."
Keane was pleased with the contributions of new signings Jonny Evans and Carlos Edwards and is hopeful of adding more new faces before the end of January.
He also refused to attach any blame for the defeat on Miller, who was sent off for a crude lunge on Ormerod and then a block on David Nugent.
He added: "I had no problems with the sending off. He set himself up because there were two (other players) there for the first yellow card so he didn't have to dive in.
"But Liam's probably feeling bad enough as it is and he doesn't need me coming down hard on him.
"Jonny was outstanding and Carlos did well when he came on. Hopefully they'll feel the benefits of that. We're delighted with those two."
Preston boss Paul Simpson agreed that his side had not made it easy for themselves but was content to be in the hat for the fourth round draw.
He said: "It was hard work and we made it hard work. It was one of those games when a team goes down to 10 men, they raised all their levels and unfortunately we dropped ours a little bit.
"But in the FA Cup the only thing you concern yourself with is you make sure you get into the next round and I'm delighted to say we've done it.
"They pushed us all the way and they've probably gone away a bit gutted that they haven't got anything out of it."
Ormerod squandered three other good chances and Simpson admitted it could have been far more comfortable.
He continued: "The one he took was probably the hardest of them all but on another day he could have gone away with the match ball.
"While we looked leggy and tired and we made it hard for ourselves we could have had an emphatic 3-0 or 4-0 victory."
Yes Carlos impress on debut. Insure that them EPL teams keep lookoing at you.
Carlos Edwards could make his Sunderland debut in Saturday's FA Cup tie at Preston.
Edwards, the Trinidad and Tobago midfielder, completed a £1.5m move to the Stadium of Light from Luton this week and will go straight into Roy Keane's squad for the game.
Boss Keane will have a reinforced squad for the third-round tie at Deepdale.
Jon Stead, Tommy Miller, Andy Welsh, William Mocquet, Arnau, Clive Clarke, Neill Collins and Kevin Smith are all back at the Stadium of Light after completing loan spells with various clubs.
And only Smith cannot play at Preston - he featured for Wrexham in the earlier rounds of this season's FA Cup.
The loan players' return acts as a timely boost to Sunderland who have a number of injury problems.
Steve Caldwell, Nyron Nosworthy and Graham Kavanagh are out of the game while Danny Collins has an outside chance of recovering from a hamstring injury.
Kenny Cunningham and Stephen Wright are both easing their way back into full training after long-term lay-offs, but Saturday's third-round tie will come too soon for them.
Welcome Cartman!!!!!
Carlos will do all of us proud.
