I think no country allows a club sign or something like that in their national flag. But you can change the colour just a little bit then nobody can complain because it is not the official flag anymore   ;)

They say something like this:

Klinsi: Finally we meet Olli.
Kahn: That is the biggest diversionary manoeuvre in history.
Klinsi: And everyone believed it.
Kahn: I nearly believed it myself.
Klinsi: That you are the no. 2?
Kahn: Yes
Klinsi: No no Olli. A titan Kahn can only be the no. 1.
Kahn: Right.
Klinsi: And therefore I wanted to suggest to you, we lend you at Trinidad Tobago.
Kahn: What?
Klinsi: Yes or to Switzerland.
Kahn: Aaaaargh. That is unbelievable.
Klinisi: Nevertheless we can talk about everything.
Kahn: I strike you in the stripes you Maultasche.
Klinsi: But you are the Olli of the hearts.
Kahn: I don't give a shit.

Football / Re: LA Galaxy admit Beckham interest
« on: November 06, 2006, 02:13:47 PM »
I cannot image that he will move to another club. If they really want him to stay, he will be a regular soon again.

Real wants to extend - "Becks" remains cool
England star kicker David Beckham is everything else but content with his sporty situation with the Spanish record master Real Madrid and holds back himself with the extension of his contract which is running out at the end of the season.
The former captain of the "Three Lions" wants only to sign if he gained again a regular place in the team. The is reported by Reals director of sport Predrag Mijatovic in an interview with the Spanish television.
"We want him to extend"
"We want him to extend and negotiations took place already. From our side there is no problem ", says Mijatovic. But Beckham still hesitates.

"He would like to continue, but only, if he plays. Therefore he wants to wait and see whether he can return to the first team." In this season under the new coach Fabio Capello, Beckham only did three league games from the start. Also in the 1:2-defeat on Sunday against Celta Vigo he only  came in in the 65th minute when the game was 1:1. Since 2003 the 31-year-old is being signed  with the "royal ones", during this time however he still won no title.

Meanwhile the American soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy stated its interest in signing the English football star. "Momentary he has still another contract with Real Madrid. But if it changes and there is a possibility, we are of course interested ", said club president Alexis Lalas to the BBC. Already in April "Becks" explained that he could imagine a career end in the United States.

Heath calls for rule change
Fri 13 Oct, 9:00 PM

Coventry assistant manager Adrian Heath wants FIFA to change the rules governing the release of players for international duty.Heath is furious after Trinidad & Tobago pair Stern John and Chris Birchall failed to return to England in time for the Sky Blues' clash with Southend.
The City pair had been called up by their nation for two friendlies but once in the Caribbean announced their intention to retire from international football after a money row with the Trinidad & Tobago Football Federation.
Heath said: "It is ludicrous - the players have been out of the country for two weeks to play two games of football.
"The powers that be have got to do something about it. We encourage players to go away and play for their country because I would want to do the same, but when you are away for two weeks to play two matches it is not right."

Damn, ah know Wise wasn't ah super star in de world cup, but de man could still give any team, ah descent contribution on de pitch. Ah just cah understand how he getting so much bench.  >:(

cuz he is crap. the only thing he contributes is turnovers.

Oh gawd Supporter, we know de man have he lil  weak points on de pitch, but de man is not crap. Due tuh his style of play (dribbling) he does have ah high percentage of turn overs. However, de breddah is still ah descent player.

"[...]Evans Wise, WM participant for Trinidad & Tobago, consoled jinx Tsiflidis and seemed sad himself that he sat again only on the bench. "Its probably a tactical thing of the coach", he shrugs with his shoulders. A change to Los Angeles Galaxy failed in the summer because of the money. "LA cannot buy players,  that must be done by the league there, but the MLS didn’t want to pay the 50,000 EUR that Waldhof wanted", the 32-year-old gave away, whose family still lives in Washington DC. Might he change perhaps in the winter? ", I don’t know, but momentarily I feel very good in Mannheim. I wouldn’t bother playing a further year here."    Source: Mannheimer Morgen 25 September 2006"

2010 World Cup - South Africa / Re: Beckenbauer issues 2010 warning
« on: September 20, 2006, 12:48:44 PM »
The Fifa chief also advised South Africans not to take up offers of help from British, French, German, or other experts involved in organising previous World Cups.

I just saw this reverse article, but do not ask me what "sid" is  ???

FIFA asks DFB for assistance for the WC 2010
The WC 2010 does not take place in Germany again, but at least in the organization of the tournament in South Africa German knowledge is to be used.

Horst R. Schmidt, Vize of the organisation committee of the WC 2006, should come to the aid of the hosts of the first African WC on request of the FIFA. According to sid information there was a discussion between the FIFA, the South African organizing committee and Schmidt last Saturday.
[...]
With the call for assistance of the German organisation committee, FIFA president Joseph S. Blatter indirectly confirms reports of sid, who had referred to discrepancies between the beautiful plans and the reality in South Africa already right after the WC. These reports were officially disclaimed by the FIFA at that time. Now Blatter criticized to see neither shovel nor pickaxe in South Africa.

Berlin - The president of the world soccer federation Fifa, Joseph Blatter, justified the system of the ticket sales for the WC in Germany. On the occasion of the opening of the international football symposium for the evaluation of the WC Blatter said: "Tickets were available for everyone, I call that free market", and defended thereby indirectly the black market with tickets sold until the beginning of the game.

05.09.2006 - Evans Wise: moral winner of Ulm
We already reported on the good tendency of the fans as well as the rearing up of the team despite a 3-goals-handicap during the away game in Ulm. In the follow-up to this game a decision of Evans Wise became known, which is worthy of a single criticism due to its signal effect. Five days ago we already communicated the fact that the midfield player did not only settle his thoughts about moving but rather wants to fight himself into the team and establish himself as a master player. Regardless of his achievements within the last games, the Waldhofer world cup participant set a trend-setting sign. He rejected the invitation to the ten days active training course of his national team in order to be at the disposal to "his team" in the important games in Ulm and Sandhausen. Furthermore he did not want to be missing in the momentary important training phase.
This decision is not naturally. We have great respect for this and see herein a reflection of the strong company in the team as well as the will of each player to want to reach something with the team in the anniversary season of Waldhof Mannheim.

I found this statement:
http://www.goalgate.de/index.php?c=artikel&cap=1148

It says something like this:

Eleven players don't form a team
Beenhakker:I will look out for new players

Odense.
Leo Beenhakker cannot be content with his debut as Polish national coach. Poland lost 2:0 and showed with few exceptions a weak achievement. "Partially our game looked like in the world cup. Eleven player who didn't form a team however. Missing co-ordination, organization and concentration as well as simple ball losses in the own half led to the first goal of the Danes. Before the game I thought, how it can be that you have got so many good players, but form no good team. I still do think about it....I won't evaluate any players. I will look out for new players, any player with Polish passport has a chance at me. Am I worried about the games against Finland and Serbia? I have hope, that within the ten days, in which I will have the players at my dispoasal in September, I will prepare the participants so well, that their play will look much better than today against Denmark ", so Beenhakkers comment to the game of the Polish national team.

Evans Wise out of contract with his German club now?

Last we hear he was training with the Galaxy looking for a contract there so I guess you have to be a free agent if you doing them thing.

I read it is still unsure whether he will stay in the team. In another article they say that he probably won't join Galaxy. Mannheim will not let him go without a transfer sum and they still need someone on the left middlefield. So he will stay there if no other team is interested.

I don't know what happened to the bus but if you need a used car you can buy two of the little Minis that were placed at the teams disposal. There will be sold two other cars and one with autographs as well.

As I couldn't find the article of the newspaper on the internet the only source I could give you is the seller itself:

Not yet. He said after two years of intense work he feels empty and burnt out right now and wants to spend more time with his family.
Question: Could one rule out that you will work presently for another association, e. g. that of the USA?
Answer: Yes. I won’t take a new job in the near future. I am not interested at all and there are no contacts in this respect.
