Game slow down, so now them men getting time to knock ball. They succumb to the high-energy start by Panama.
These players can't match the speed of the game. Of course, the PFL teams in the CONCACAF CL also have the same problem. No reason to imagine that the PFL players would come to the National team and suddenly become world-class defenders.
Tactical awareness however was the downfall on the goal. 2 defenders let a man collect a throw in in the area, turn and shoot. The ball should never have touched the ground. The forward still had work to do though - good goal.
The nonstop through balls from Panama evident in the first 20 minutes have died down as well. Clearly they were instructed to attack the shaky defense from the kick off. We've adjusted and there is less space in the midfield for the passes. I would expect the 2nd half to start off the same as the first, relentless running and pressure.
