Jesse Lingard is rejuvenated and is putting in Messi-esque contributions. Top goal and build ups to goals vs Wolves.

I relly cyah believe you mention Lingard and Messi in de same sentence.
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: True, I should've compared him to Craig Burnley.

Ah even more pissed. One of the things that irked me about this match is that we failed to test the keeper repeatedly ... I elaborated on why privately. Well, guess what! He just called quits on his playing career.

Great send off.

He retired? Don't know if it was just me but with all due respect, that keeper seemed to be a bit heavy but we had him looking like Buffon.

Read an article in the Guardian today stating that one of our players tested positive for Covid yesterday and the game could be postponed. I haven't seen anything on here so I guess the game's still on.
Update on that.

Final Warm up T&T’s defender Radanfah Abu Bakr, left, warms up with the his team-mates ahead of Thursday's crucial World Cup Qualifying match against Guyana in the Dominican Republic from 7 pm tonight. It will be the opening match for both teams in Group F.

Courtesy TTFA Media

It will be a showdown in Santo Domingo on Thursday night at, 7 pm T&T's Soca Warriors will be up against Guyana at the Pan American Stadium in San Cristobal.

However, there appears to be some level of uncertainty about if the match will be played or not, after a T&T player tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19) after PCR testing was done on all members of the team contingent on Wednesday.

According to the TTFA release: "The individual tested positive and was immediately isolated at the team’s hotel. All Covid-19 protocols are being followed and he is presently awaiting a re-test for confirmation purposes."

Guardian Media Sports was informed on Wednesday that the player will be re-tested on Thursday and if the test comes back positive a decision will have to be made.

The release continued: "Strict contact tracing was then performed and all primary contacts have been quarantined, they would then be tested accordingly following the player's re-test results. The player is asymptomatic at this time. The TTFA also respects the confidentiality wishes of the player."

In the meanwhile and staying match focused, T&T has now dismissed the torture of a loss of home advantage as the game was expected to be T&T's home game, and the players are now singing, in one chorus, the need to get maximum points from the contest.

Coach Terry Fenwick will not be at full-strength but will be more than 75 per cent ready, with most of his overseas-based professionals back, namely Levi Garcia (club AEK Athens), midfielder Sheldon Bateau (Mechelen), Aubrey David (Deportivo Saprissa), Khaleem Hyland (Al Batin), Daniel Phillips (Watford), Nicklas Frenderup (Stjørdals-Blink- Norway), Radanfah Abu Bakr (Churchill Brothers- India), and Ronald Primus who also plays in India.

They will all join forces with an equally determined bunch of local players that will be led by talented midfielder Duane Muckette.

on Wednesday, both Hyland and Garcia told the media that the game will be a tough one, but they believe the team will come away winners. According to Hyland: "It will be a difficult game. It;'s the first game of the World Cup qualifiers. Guyana is a tough team from the last Gold Cup game. I did not play that game but from watching from the stands, they have a lot of players in the lower teams in Europe. And they're a team that's trying to be at the level as T&T, so we know we have a tough clash."

The Guyanese held T&T to a 1-1 tie in the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2019 in the United States, and have since recruited Brazilian coach Marcio Maximo for the qualifiers.

The defensive midfielder admits the challenging times being posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, but said, football is now taking place with the pandemic so they have to focus on the task ahead, saying "Tomorrow is a very important game for us. We need to do our jobs and let God do the rest."

Meanwhile, Garcia who has just returned from an injury is eager to deliver. "I am really excited, it has been a while, so I really want to deliver, and most importantly, try to get as many victories as possible. We all know that there is no easy game and as a team, we're trying to gel together, deliver what the coach is trying to implement, and hopefully, we can get together tomorrow and get a victory."

Today's opening match will be followed by another three days later against Puerto Rico on March 28. T&T is playing out of Group F alongside the Puerto Ricans, the Guyanese, Bahamas and St Kitts/Nevis, with only the winning team advancing to the second round of the qualifiers.

As much as I like Zlatan as a player I think he was out of line for mentioning LeBron James name in his comments. LeBron and his team are highly calculated and is well informed on all the issues and he uses his platform to speak out against.

Another good listen. Enjoyed that.
Yes that was a fantastic interview. It was good to hear some his insights during his tenure as the NT coach, never heard him open up like that before. I enjoyed the part about the game in Argentina and Messi in particular, just watched him score 2 incredible goals today. I will say it again, ppl may not have liked some of our results in the Hex but under Hart was best the NT looked since Leo.

Terry Fenwick rejected the use of this scouting network because he said he had his own scouts and connections to locate players in North America and Europe.
Really? If so then it's a damn shame he doesn't have an open mind gain info from a credible source.

Fenwick has a benchmark now, let's see how the team improves. i won't criticize now given the challenges but I agree with MEP, the formation was surprising given the first outing with a newly assembled squad and lack of chemistry.

Nothing shabby when both of your CBs score. Was curious to see how Centeno would reconfigure his back 4 or who Waston would sit.

Stay humble and keep wukkin. KW will smile but he not on no skin teet ting on de field.

So, a question fuh de masses framed as a statement. Name another T&T player that has partnered Waston in central defense. Doh waste too much time. :)

Saw the highlights of the game, he came off the bench and had a shot on target that the keeper had to save. They said he's the youngest player to feature for Sheffield in the Premiership at 16yrs. The way things are going, Sheffield might be relegated this season unless they can seriously turn things around.

Boca vs River tonight, 8:30 pm TT time. Both teams have an almost identical record (Boca has conceded one less). Both teams are averaging 2 goals per match in their favor.
This should be some entertaining football.

Depends on what they do with the 100K is how I feel about this.
The FA is making an example of Cavani. Other players have been given lesser sanctions for similar offenses.

Q: Was there a Trini on the field/bench?

Only one possibility

Agreed. Maybe he will confirm. :)

He was on the bench, but didn't play. Interestingly, Ray Hudson played and scored in that game. The great Gerd Meuller was also on de field.

This is a tough question without a hint: Who was the first player Best skinned on the way to scoring? Hint: Think Hudson and Hislop.

Dead give-away of a clue.

The suit alone was as you said, was a dead giveaway lol...maybe I should tweet this video to Bien Sports

He should go Minnesota. They need to extend their roster.

Rumor has it that Houston Dynamo and Columbus Crew are interested in his services.

TM is the Adam Schefter of the T&T pro's during free agency :notworthy:

Didn't see the game but checked the line-ups and saw he started as a forward. He came off in the 55th min. Hopefully he caught the eye of Brendan Rodgers and a Leicester scout.

Yea two excellent goals. He sees the space and the #10 was on his wavelength and had the vision to provide him with quality assists. I was hoping they interviewed him after the game since he was man of the match but FOX dropped the ball. Seattle in the conference final on Monday night, should be another good one.

Big respect to Napoli. HBO has an excellent documentary on Diego Maradonna where they give insight to the life of Diego, the footballer and Maradonna the celebrity. It shows how his life turned upside down with the nightly partying and drugs through the influence of the mafia in Naples. What was impressive was how he turned Napoli into a European powerhouse when they were considered to be a joke in Italian football.

I was surprised by that move to Napoli. I thought it would be either, AC, Inter or Juve, not Naples.
Yea it was a slap in the face move by Barca to teach him a lesson it felt like, and the fact they prolly didn't want to send him to a big club that would've been dominant with him on the team.

Am I missing something here? Wasn't most of the mismanagement (a key reason for our piss poor performances) done by the Williams led administration? Why don't they go after them as well?
